Couldn't resist..

Post by dngnmn » Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:21 pm

I got a 45-70 side gate Brass for Christmas. Really like it. Today, in the gun store with a friend, I saw a 45-70 all weather side gate. It really caught my eye. I brought it home for $929.00. Can't wait to shoot it.

congrats .... great to hear that they are being seen in stores .... looking forward to following you range reports and use impressions .... I'm specially interested in any differences you note in performance of the two .... a while back you added a 44, be sure to add them both and any others you may have to our community's total at the link below

Dang! Two .45-70's! You are on a roll. Let us know how they shoot, and do you handload for those?

when I bought mine the LGS only had the 45/70 tube load, no side gate. Wish I could have had the side gate but I am still happy with mine. Did not want to wait for a couple months to get one so I took what they had.

Rifletom, I don't reload but I'm going to save the brass. I have friends that reload. I may try it myself one day.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

The only thing better than getting a new Henry that you want is getting two. Congratulations.

I must have had some luck on my side. I found the Brass side gate during Christmas break just by luck, Then happened to be in the right place at the right time for the all weather side gate. Been trying to find one for a friend and they are scarce.
