Slings, butt cuffs and lever wraps
Slings, butt cuffs and lever wraps
After my recent purchase of a BBS 357 I’m thinking of which accessories I want to add. I’m thinking of a sling with or without ammo storage a butt cuff with ammo storage and a lever wrap. I see many posts using Brass Tacker for the sling and lever wrap. I haven’t found a butt cuff on their site yet. I have used Simply Rugged for years and have had good luck with their products. Has anyone tried their sling and cuff? I’ve also looked at Diamond D and any other site I can find online. I would prefer to get everything I can from a single maker to try and keep everything fairly similar (my OCD acting up again). I have searched the site the best I can to try and see what others have done. I know that this is a very subjective question as what I like will be different from others.
My main use for the rifle will be target shooting.
Thanks
Jim

Re: Slings, butt cuffs and lever wraps
As you said different strokes for different folks. I bought my sling at Walmart, a camo with shell holders, which I decided not to use. Adds more weight to the rifle for my taste. Cuff & lever wrap, I gave some thought, and decided against it.
This doesn't answer your question, hope you find what you're looking for. Lots of folks here can point you in the right direction.
Good luck, pardner. Enjoy your new Henry, welcome to the forum.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Re: Slings, butt cuffs and lever wraps
I never use a cuff, because there has never been a reason even if they hold ammo and they can move around. Slings I have on all my levers. I just prefer a one piece leather sling that is very pliable or that can be worn into to the very pliable. I buy or make my own out of leather belts. Most that I buy I find them on ebay. They have several different configurations and styles. But as you say, to each his own. As far as leather wraps. I like them also, and usually use leather string and wrap it myself. I like the levers to stay fairly thin. Just some things for you to think about. Heavy slings can be troublesome if you use them to warp your arm in for steadiness as I do.
one bought off of ebay
one made from an old belt. I really prefer the old belts they are very pliable and comfortable.

Thank you everyone.
BigAl I really like the Longhorn setup you have. The biggest issue for me is they are taking orders now for delivery in March 2022.
RanchRoper Gunstock cover looks promising and I may end up going that way as it looks like I can have one stop shopping.
