Side gate 38-55 w/Skinner sights

Post by DrK » Tue Feb 18, 2020 9:27 pm

Recieved and installed Skinner Alaskan and brass front sight. Once sights were corrected can't complain about performance at 75 yards

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I like that setup! Do you get any reflection issues when the sun is on the front sight?

This is with the Vollmer. 377 starline case 2.085 24 gr 4198. I wrote Henry for lands and grooves according to production specs, reply was all specs according to SAAMI .379 x .373. I've ordered. 379 255 gr jsp from Vollmer waiting for them. I'm working on a formulation for loading these in starline cases 2.125. any experiences/suggestions. I do realize any comment is only an exchange of ideas and I assume full responsibility for any/all range results.

Forty shooter I don't notice any glare, the propaganda from Skinner says hi-vis in low light because of the solid brass. I'll put that propaganda to test come next deer season at zero-dawn-thirty.
