Good day to run some round wood through the splitter! Can't beat the price on the bigger maple as it was free!
Got rained out this afternoon, but we sure can use it.

I bought a load of wood one year that was as big as a freight car. By the time I got to the bottom, I was deep in saw dust, lol. If it were on my own land, I would had pull the rest out with my farm tractor, but this was on a farm about 8 Miles away.

By the way, no log splitter. All hand split with a maul.

Used to do tri-axle grapple loads of logs every 2 years, and split by hand with mall and wedges. Those days are long gone. The splitter will do 22 " butt's sideways when
In vertical position. Only way to go.

cut and split firewood for us for something over 40 years but to borrow a phrase from above, "Those days are long gone." .... still have a very large wood splitter in the garage that hasn't been cranked in years

Cut and split here is running $300 +/cord for dry. Not really cost effective for me. Do buy 1 to 2 cords a year of round wood at $150/cord. Get another 2+ of oak and beech from my own trees.
