.
I've done it both ways. For me it was a toss up. Less time actually spray painting, but a whole lot more time spent in masking and draping things I didn't want over-spray getting on or into.

Finished repairing the damaged windows today, ordered fibre cement siding from Home Depot to replace cracked and broken shingles, and have to round up all the stuff for the paint sprayer. Took me 4 days to roll and brush last time so I am hoping to cut that in half with the sprayer this time. Hard to say, it takes me a lot longer to do anything these days.

Got the broken siding shingles replaced, the windows repaired, and power washed the house. Picking up paint tomorrow so in the morning I will cover the windows and I should be good to paint the bulk of the house. I will go over the trim on the overhang afterward so I won't mask that off. Will be a learning experience with the sprayer. Have a commercial model Titan 740 that I bought used and completely rebuilt. Hope I did a good job.

Ready to paint then it started to rain. Never liked the color so now I am going with a charcoal.

Good choice Ernie! We have been going with grey tones as well on recent projects.

Took me 2 hours to mask the windows and doors and another 2 hours to spray the entire house. Then the fun part, painting the trim took 4 hours over 2 days. I have declared it finished for this year.

. This was the kitchen window to start.

This is the finished result.
And the front of the finished house.
Had to repair/ replace sills on 5 of 9 windows and replace broken siding shingles. Still some picky stuff but there will always be more.
Now to start back on the work shop.

Now I can start reclaiming my workshop. Would like to be out there this winter but have a lot to clean out to get the space back.

Took off the entry door to my shop and removed the old brick molding, rotting jamb and threshold. Replaced the jamb and rehung the door. That was a chore because I have steel bars on the inside and it weighs about 80 pounds. Have steel bars over the windows as well from when I had my jewelry store out there. Tomorrow I will install the new threshold, trim and caulk. Then new weather stripping on the overhead door. Getting ready for the cold weather so I can work out there this winter. One step at a time.
