Sorry to hear Mark. I hope that things normalize soon but it seems like there's always something to fix around a home. Best wishes!

I seem to remember our 1½hp well pump being under $500 back in 1986.
My irrigation pump just started getting loud, I'm hoping it's just the motor and I can get just it repaired or replaced. Just replaced the pump a few years ago and it was around $450, the same one is now $650.

When we sold in VA and moved to Oklahoma we bought with an eye to having a cash savings to fall back on in case of emergency. The first year was like that. One thing after another. About $30k later we had knocked out the hidden repairs the seller had not revealed and our cash savings along with it. (Plus a loan from the credit union.) We feel your pain....

We still find things pop up now and then, but we deal with them. It beats living in an apartment and dealing with the problems and issues of others on all sides. I swore I'd never do that again after years of military housing and apartment living. I kept buying bigger and bigger properties for more insulation from those around me... Quiet, l like the quiet.
