acre rich and dollar poor

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Sep 12, 2023 6:08 pm

I closed today on the 22 acres around me. Next step is to combine the two parcels. When I saw this aerial view I almost passed on the property. Then I thought there might be a chance I could buy the land. Well that chance came true today.

Is the area highlighted in green your original property and the rest of the parcel what you acquired?

Congratulations. The deal you have to let the neighbor maintain the surrounding property to cut hay makes it even sweeter since you have no need for the hay. He'll keep the fields fertilized and smooth for you and you'll have a nice vista from the upper floors knowing what you see is "Yours."

Smart move. We added 5 to our 11 Acres years ago and it was one of the best decisions we ever made. And we had no money when we bought it, lol.

I even get the view from my living room/kitchen and the RV.

I can’t believe I actually bought it. There was three of us wanting it. The first couldn’t get financing so I stepped in with a lesser offer and said I’m a cash buyer. She accepted my offer. Then the third person wanted to buy five acres to the far end. I politely said I wanted it all for myself. I live in one of the most picturesque places in the state.
