You’re like a kid in a candy factory. Nice work with that tractor.

Is your house currently propane heat or are you converting it to propane heat?
It’s currently propane and I rent one 500 gallon tank. It holds 400 gallons and I consume. 800 to 900 gallons a year. Filling it in the winter is a major problem and propane is $2.29 a gallon in the winter. I pay $1.24 in the summer.

The tank size is 4,000 gallons but will only hold 3,200 gallons because you can only fill them 80%. At $1.24 a gallon that’s only $3,968. Plus of course the $12,800 for the tanks! I’m predicting a propane shortage.

That's not too bad considering the length and severity of your Winters. You won't have to worry running out, especially it you can get them topped up every Summer.

$1.24 a gallon is CHEAP, I forgot about the 80% thing.

$1.59 is normal summer price when you do a minimum 200 gallon fill. It’s $2.29 in the winter. I’ll transfer 200 gallons over from the rented 500 gallon tank. So I negotiated a 3,000 gallon price of $1.24.

Pre Covid it was $0.89.

I should be able to go three years although I’ll top off each summer.

I just found out my tanks are delayed but they are finally on the way. They only had two 1,000 gallon tanks so one will be back ordered. They have lots of 500 gallon tanks coming and o have two on order. ETA is September 18th.

this morning we scheduled to have our 500 gallon tank filled next week .... gauge shows 50% .... I was told to anticipate it costing about $400 ..... I just got back from having an empty 40 lb tank from our camper filled .... they charged $29.04 + $2.11 TX
