I'm not sure about the speakers but I know he paid almost 9K for the turntable. He's got a lot of money tied up in just playing vinyl. I'll have to ask him about the speakers.

I'll have to add that all I have is a vintage NIkko 3035 receiver, a Toshiba direct drive turntable, and a pair of Polk audio speakers.

The reason I ask is; I have a very wealthy ex-BIL that many years ago had a set of speakers that looked very similar, and sounded amazing that were Magnaplaners. Never seen any since. Lifestyles of the rich and famous maybe...?

He says they're Klipsch. He said he paid around $6500 per speaker.

It’s not just the rich and famous. It’s also us regular guys that like to listen to music without distortion. If I paid $60K for a new truck few would think anything of it. Yet if I were to spend $6K on a stereo people would think I’m recklessly spending.
