Gene, those look just like mine. Did you get leather or synthetic bindings? I can't tell from the photo. Congratulations, I'm sure you will like them.
Good call on the ice cleats too.
Leather. They are in the same shape as my old Gene Prater shoes.

Very nice and, oh yeah, you will need those ice cleats. We can get a freeze-thaw cycle anytime during the winter, now.
The trade off is they cause more drag. Some of the other shapes glide a lot easier. At least that is what I’m told. The shape I bought are the only shape I’ve ever used. I’ve used them for climbing steep slopes in Washington. I will now be looking for boots specifically for snowshoeing.

We are getting out first snow that is expected to stick next week. We had some snow but it melted quickly.

Beautiful snowshoes Gene!
As you use them make sure they dry out well after each use. And check the webbing periodically to see if the 'varnish' is wearing off (especially the bottom). When mine start to wear I revarnish them with polyurethane. One pair I didn't catch in time and the webbing rotted. I don't know if polyurethane is legit but it has always worked well for me. I'm sure the manufacturer has recommendations.
Happy Snowshoeing!!!!

I received some maintenance instructions with the shoes. I haven’t read them but will before I use them.

What kind of poles are you using Dave?
