I like the new Broncos. I would keep it but certainly understand the desire of new wheels.

This is the Jeep I would love to have,1953 CJ3B. Had one back in the '70s and sold it for $1000.

Yes, it was pretty basic, no radio, vacuum operated wipers (going up hill you had to get off the gas long enough to get one swipe) until I finally installed an after market electric wiper on the driver's side. Decent brakes after I upgraded them to Ford pickup brakes. It did have decent heater, but I think it was aftermarket, no defroster though, had to use a towel. I don't think it would meet today's safety standards since the driver's seat was right on top of the gas tank. Easy to work on and very dependable though.

I had a CJ5 in the 70's. It had electric wipers. It too had the gas tank under the driver's seat. 10gal. None of the gauges worked. I frequently ran out of gas, but had two 5 gal jerry cans on back-end rack. The heater was wimpy. Leaky canvas top. Cold to drive in the winter.

My oil pressure and temp gauges worked, had to replace the speedometer. When I got it, it had a aluminum half cab so it would get fairly warm but the back window was plastic and very small and the mirrors weren't great so backing up was not fun. Not nearly as warm when I put a new vinyl full cab on it but had much better visibility.

The CJ3B was desirable because of the higher hood it was easier to install a V-8. I found that with the stock 4 cylinder I could go anywhere they could go just not as fast.

For prowess, dependability, resale value AND comfort, consider a Toyota 4Runner. I know many are drawn to Jeeps, but just sayn'. Something to consider. We are on our 4th one. Still own three. They never quit. The first one was sold while still running with almost 300k miles.😁👍

The Jeep above I’m looking at is the base model. No power anything. Radio, 2wd, 4 hi and 4 low. Shift on the floor. That’s what I want. No gizmos at all. Im done with all the electronic crap. It even has manual windows and you have to unlock it with your key….
