GMC All Electric Hummer

Post by JEBar » Thu Oct 22, 2020 11:41 am

on the plus side, 1,000HP / 11,500 foot pounds of torque, 0-60 in 3 seconds .... on the minus side, it needs a baseball card in the wheel spokes to sound like a real engine .. .. Cool to see these kinds of advancements and performance numbers... but with an entry price of $112k... safe to say it's not for me. LOL!!

I like the concept but don't think it is practical for me. If you are using it for around town perhaps (not for $112k), but I would be concerned for longer milage trips. I don't know how long the batteries will run it or how long to recharge or where to recharge if on the road somewhere. SOLAR? :D

The link gives all that information. You can go 350 miles on a full charge and 10 miles on a one minute charge. Quite impressive but I’ll take the 640 mile range of my Subaru Outback and another 640 miles on a five minute fillup.

What really bothers me about this vehicle is it was designed to go where there are no chargers.

Actually in comparison 112K aint that bad. Go Look for at a 3500 DRW or SWR pickup there 80K. I have no use for a hummer but I cant even afford the 80K for a new pickup.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

My pick-up cost $1300 back in 2000. Still have it, runs just as good as the day I bought it. Totally enjoy driving it (and it has a Clutch Pedal, lol) as well as keeping it up. I can hardly go anywhere without someone walking up to me to talk about it or wanting to buy it. It's nice enough to be nice, but not so nice that I'm afraid to use it. It still can haul a good load. Have no plans on ever selling it. To sell it and to buy a new truck, gas or electric, the way I see it would be pretty crazy.

No Dealer or Manufacturer is ever going to get any kind of that money from me, lol.

I can’t even afford $8K for a used one. And for $112K I could buy a quarter million Henrys.

I go about 500 miles on a tank of diesel. But I have to wait until 2030 to buy a 2020.
