because they require both stringing and snapping, they do require a bit more effort to get ready to cook ... as noted, they are the beans my father raised in his garden .... so, they are the green beans I was raised on and have the taste I prefer
yes, Carol did the stringing and snapping, and then cooked them to perfection....at least they tasted like it! :D

Where you headed to in SD?
Mt Rushmore, Wind and Jewell Caves, Crazy Horse and whatever else time allows. Then to Deadwood. Two stops in Montana on the way over.
i grew up in that area, you'll have great time

trip recap ====> in spite of COVID we attempted to make this summer's trip as routine as possible .... we put 4,648 miles on our truck .... participating in the TSD Logistics Diesel fuel discounts program (discussed in this thread http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... am#p138291 ) really saved us some money .... during our entire trip back home, we never paid more than $1.809 a gallon for diesel fuel .... all in all, the truck ran well .... we did get one check engine light that ended up being for being 2 1/2 gallons low on antifreeze .... we had the truck checked and it doesn't have a leak .... we now have 173,000+ miles on our truck and this is the first time we've had to add antifreeze .... as covered in this thread we did have to replace a suspension bolt on the camper, found a bad spot in the camper's roof (to be repaired day after tomorrow), as per usual, had the roof AC's cleaned .... it appears that cleaning of the front AC clogged a drain hole .... taking care of the clog is on the top of our current list .... we also switched to a new portable DISH, with appears to be a good upgrade .... all in all, not a bad report on our truck and camper that are both far from new .... we did have to make some accommodations for COVID but we didn't allow it to dominate our considerations .... we are now planning an October trip to Chesapeake and January return to Texas
