we are up and about as usual for a travel day .... we hope to be able get on the road 9AM for a projected 339 mi / 4 h 46 min drive to Greenville, AL .... all but a few miles will be on interstate highways .... as noted earlier, as usual, the joker in today's deck is what type of traffic we will face going around Atlanta ....
I haven’t checked on this post in awhile and hadn’t read it from the start till now. This is as far as I’ve gotten. Will read another five pages tomorrow.

I like how you have kept it all on one thread.

as is our norm for a travel day we are up and about a couple of hours earlier than usual .... my hope is, we will experience a marked decrease in traffic along the way .... not looking forward to leaving Texas but its time .... the good news is, only a 20% chance of rain during today's drive ..... we hope to get on the road around 9AM ..... no fuel stops but with a 5 hr drive all of which will be in the Central Time Zone, we will pull over about half way for a brief stop .... towing a 36' potty does have its advantages .. :D

309.4 miles covered in 5 hrs 38 min (one brief rest stop) after leaving Thousand Trails Lake Conroe Campground we arrived at Baton Rouge KOA (our site shown below) .... during our 2 1/2 weeks spent at Lake Conroe we put 390.9 non-towing miles on our truck .... thankfully, today's drive didn't include any excitement .... when we pulled into the this campground there appeared to be a good number of sites open .... in the 3 hours we've been here, we've seen a pretty steady flow of RV's come in ..... as a side point, during our first 3 hours drive today traffic was light and we only saw 2 RV's .... during the last 2+ hours traffic on I-10 really picked up ..... we saw long lines of semis and RV's of every description .... when we stopped at Louisiana's I-10 Welcome Center located about 3 miles from the Texas border, the big rig parking was all but full while the automobile parking area was all but empty .... tomorrow's drive should cover just under 340 miles with all but a couple being on interstate highways

Hey All,

You do do enjoyable threads. Drive carefully an remember social distancing applies on the highways too - especially around Toyota's. You certainly don't want to get that corolla virus....

Enjoy the trip

kind words appreciated and understood on the distancing .... our camper and truck actually function as our self containment unit .. :D .. as examples, when we need a restroom break we pull into a rest area or truck stop, park in the big rig area, and use the facilities in our camper .... when we take on fuel, we use big rig lanes to fuel and pay at the pump .... I now make it a practice to wipe down the pump handle .... I have little doubt that our forum members are all doing whatever is necessary under their individual circumstances

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

today's drive (our longest of our trip home) took us 5 hrs and 50 min to cover 354.4 miles .... by comparison, tomorrow's drive is projected to cover 308 miles .... one brief stop at the I-10 Welcome Center located just west of Mobile .... we are currently setup at Montgomery South RV Park in Hope Hull, AL (see pictures) .... this is our first visit to to this park, we will probably stay here again .... traffic today was surprisingly heavy but the rest areas we passed seemed to have very few cars or big rigs

another day, another day's drive .... our destination today is Heritage RV Park in Augusta, GA .... it is a park we are familiar with because we have overnighted there many times over the years .... today's route takes us around Atlanta .... that is something we don't look forward to but with it being Saturday .... with everything else going on right now we hope traffic will be much lighter than usual .... we hope to be able to make the drive with a single rest stop along the way .... no fuel stop on tap

after covering 328.3 miles in 5 hrs 11 min we are settled in Heritage RV Park in Augusta, GA .... thankfully, today's drive went well .... the first couple of pictures show pollen picked up by our truck's tires when we stopped at the Alabama Welcome Center on I-85 .... we did have a malfunction while setting up at Heritage .... the motor that moves our largest slideout was dead .... checked the 12V fuse and it was good .... pulled the switch panel and found the burnt connector shown in the second couple of pictures .... its an OEM part that was installed in Oct of '05 when the camper was built .... after replacing it, all's good .... looking forward and dreading tomorrow .... hate to see this trip come to an end but ready to get back home .... anticipating a 283 mile drive with two stops for fuel ....
