its hard to believe that today is slated to be our last in South Dakota for this year .... after a string of beautiful weather, rain has been falling since before daylight .... as noted in earlier post, this has been anticipated so we have very little outside that needs to be taken care of .... as most folks who travel will understand, we hate to see this trip come to an end, while at the same time, we are looking forward to the next leg of our trip

time always seems to pass tooooo quickly .... tomorrow's drive to just east of KC is scheduled to be our longest of the trip .... sure hope it proves to be a boring one ..

no doubt about it .... the only part that I doubt will simply fly by is the 7+ hr drive down there ..

the rain moved out around 2PM and has been replaced by a largely blue sky .... the fellow who works on our computers came by and all's well with both of ours ... they are both getting some age on them so sooner or later the time will come when they have to be replaced ..... an aluminum weld on our Port-A-Steps broke, they have been repaired and will be available for our use on the way home .... fresh water has been pumped into our fresh tank .... the black tank is on tap to be drained / cleaned before dark .... taking down our VuQube satellite antenna and unhooking/storing our regular utility connections along with hooking up to the truck are about all that remains to taken care of in the morning ....

breakfast over, town fire alarm wailing, foggy, 63 degrees .... about 15 minutes from going out to unhooking utilities and hooking up the truck

before leaving South Dakota this morning we put 1,253.7 miles on our truck since arriving there on June 13th .... today's drive took us 8 hrs 8 min which we covered 492.8 miles .... for us, that's a very long day .... right now we are setup at the KC East / Oak Grove KOA ..
.. pictures and comments will be posted later .... as anticipated, the heat and humidity here is sure is different than that in Estelline
