Yes, it's not like the old Turtle paste wax that was so hard to remove, it just wipes off with a bath towel. My Miata's not that large and has no top to do but I can apply it in around 10 minutes and wipe it off in less, I said buffed but you really just wipe it off.

I might be able to handle that then. Would still have to do a section at a time on my prized P/U though. Lotta surface areas, especially the tanneau. ;)

.
Poly-carbonate lens when they first came out where horrible for UV resistance. They are a lot better now. My cars that where routinely parked in the shade or garage have no sign of Lens UV damage. Near same age as my Tundra, which is parked outdoors. The Tundra's are badly damaged. Toothpaste got them near new in clarity. After taking the truck to a detailer, the lens clouded up in less than a week. In cleaning them up again I was getting some wax residue. Using a solvent to remove the wax didn't clear them up. This was couple years ago and I haven't needed to work so hard to polish them again since then. Although the detailer said he didn't put wax on the lens I had found orbital buffer swirls where the buffer had at least gone across the lens. In my case the wax used was as accelerant to further UV damage.

It must depend on the type of wax/polish you use. I've used Zaino Z-2 on my 06 Miata headlight lenses since it was new and my lens are not cloudy at all. Zaino is only available online and you can get a little carried away using all their products to get a perfect showcar finish. I've mostly just used the Z-2, easy to apply and buff out, lasts for mostly a year, has good UV protection. I have just got a bottle of their All in One Polish but haven't tried it yet. Their prices do seem a little high but a little goes a long way, I can do my Miata with less than a ounce.

I agree with markiver, I'm always amazed at the number of fairly new cars you see that already have cloudy lenses and they're not cheap to replace. On my Miata you have to buy the whole housing and they are over $400 a piece, rear housings are over $300.

April 15th we were able to check off a significant item on our pre-trip checklist .... that being a couple from RV Armor came to our house to repair our camper's roof ....

April 17th .... as noted above, another pre-trip item checked off .... replacement of our Sportchassis Head Light Fixtures

April 23rd .... as reported several times, after January's rain and muddy campground roads at the campgrounds we visited in Texas, our camper and truck were dirtier than I've ever seen them (first picture) .... by having the owner of Harte Power washing come by today (pictures 2 - 7) we checked off another pre-trip item ,,,, the pictures really don't do justice to how nice and shiny our rig looks right now .... the reality is with rain and use she won't be as shiny when we pull out for South Dakota but its highly likely they'll still be much cleaner than they were earlier this morning

it won't take it long to get dirty but right now she shines ... we are scheduled to camp with our club this weekend, naturally they are calling for thunderstorms most all day on Friday .. .. we have another club outing set for May .... we use both trips as test runs to make sure all systems are operational

Keep it parked during the rain...then it will still look purty. That road grime from highway road grime only takes a few minutes...I know you know that...just had to say it cause it's aggravating...
