its times like this that reinforce the need to have a comfortable place to sit and things that interest you in a camper .... this is far from our first such rainy spell and hopefully we will be able to travel sufficiently to have many other such days down the line

Totally understand Jim! I know this is definitely not new to you. Just part of the diversity of traveling.

as can be seen below standing water abounds .... in fact, the pictures below were taken a few minutes ago and as can be seen, they look very much like ones posted earlier in this thread .... today and tomorrow they are calling for it to be nice here but they are forecasting a 90% chance of rain on Thursday ... rain is also in the forecast for Thursday for the entire area where we will be driving .... consequently, we are shortening this trip by one day .... we plan to pack up and leave on Wednesday instead of on Thursday .... traditionally, this trip has been a good test for our coming winter in Texas .... thankfully, so far, so good

about all that remains for today is disconnecting the utilities, hooking up and pulling out .... the first and longest leg of today's drive should take 3 hours to cover 196 miles where we plan to fill the truck's fuel tanks at a Petro truckstop .... from there the second leg of 46 miles should take just under an hour .... we hope to get on the road around 9:30 and to be home by 2:00

well, we are home .... we were blessed with surprisingly light traffic and only one very short construction slowdown .... less than fifteen minutes after getting home we were back on the road driving about 25 minutes to pick up our 4 year old, soon to be, grandson .... after getting him home in time for a virtual preschool lesson, we drove about 5 miles to our closest early voting site .... we have to compliment the folks running it, they were very efficient .... there had to be well over 20 folks there who were at various stages of the process .... we were in and out quickly .... on the way home we picked up takeout .... we are now settled in for the evening ... unloading the camper will have to wait until tomorrow
