String Trimmer {AKA: Weed Eater}

Post by JEBar » Fri Feb 23, 2018 10:02 pm

for a good while now or camping has largely consisted of stays on a given site from a few weeks to a few months ..... under such circumstances we have found that very few campgrounds will mow/trim the grass close to our camper .... they generally mow around water, sewer, or power hoses/cords and do not mow under extended slides or our Port-a-deck.... as a result the grass grows taller and taller .... we've discussed purchasing a cheap, compact, electric string trimmer (weed eater) but until today we've never taken doing so beyond the conversation stage .... at our current site the grass was well over 6" tall under the picnic table and with guest coming for dinner, we decided to see what we could find .... a trip to Lowe's proved to be productive, we bought a BLACK & DECKER 6.5-Amp 14-in Corded Electric String Trimmer and Edger ===> https://www.lowes.com/pd/BLACK-DECKER-6 ... r/50119779 .... in keeping with a decision made a good while back that we want to get away from purchasing any battery powered tools, we specifically wanted an electric trimmer powered by an extension cord .... bottom line, it is compact, has plenty of power, stores easily, and worked well .... we anticipate using it weekly during our 3 months this summer while camped in South Dakota and may use it some while we are back home

the pictures below show the trimmer along with our portable Holland Companion Grill as a size reference .... the last pictures show where the trimmer was used to cut 6+" grass from under and around the sites picnic table .... gladly, no fire ant mounds were found .. ;)
