Nice trip, Gene.
Thanks. We are already talking about me coming back this winter to do some ice fishing. Of course I can do that in Wisconsin.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

We went fishing yesterday with little luck. I didn’t catch anything and my friend caught one pike. We didn’t see or talk to anyone else that caught anything.

It was about 15”.

We fished several Lakers and this is typical of the lakes. It’s Lake 44.5 and is at milepost 44.5 on Chenna Hot Springs Road.

We did see two moose swimming and diving to the bottom of the lake. They were also eating around the edge of the lake.

This has been a great trip and I got a real taste of Alaska from seeing the real Alaska in person to reading and seeing the history in museums.

My trip is nearing its end and I’m at the airport. Security stopped me and went through my carry on. I had to forfeit a 5.1 oz of toothpaste. I feel so much safer knowing no one has more than 3 oz of toothpaste.

Next is a 45 minute wait for the Groome Van to take me to Eau Claire where my van is parked.

Wonderful pictures, thank you. That truck is amazing. Is there a bounty on pike like around here or are they native to the area?

Felony toothpaste, you should know better.

Did you ever catch any fish? You had said your friend caught one.

No bounty on smelt however there is no limit on a lot of lakes and each person can have five poles while ice fishing.

I got away with too much soap. I mentioned it to the inspector but he pretended not to hear me.

My friend caught two and I caught one. We drove to lakes. The good lakes are a ten mile hike or fly in on a float plain. Maybe next year.
