I bought a Schrade-Henry 172UH in 1971 for my 16th birthday. Paid $16 for it new and carried it on many backpacking trips while in high school. Got married in 1976 and forgot all about the knife. I was at my father’s house one day about 10 years ago and found my knife in his laundry room. After 30+ years my knife was back. The blade has no nicks or dents only a little dirt and patina. Only sharpened once in its life. I keep it in the original sheath for one of my grandkids someday.

I have a Schrade Old Timer, it spent several years riding on the dashboard of my work truck.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I have an old Schrade Hunter of my own, a Gift from the Kaneohe Bay Rod and Gun Club for my time as the Hunting Chairman and Vice President. A Schrade Old Timer.
Not in too bad of shape for a 1985 vintage knife. I love the way this thing lays along your finger when you are skinning.

Unless you have been there, you'd be surprised at the amount and variety of hunting available in Hawaii. Birds, Pigs, Wild Goat... mongoose.
