The anticipation builds for our annual 2A sales tax holiday (7%). The gun shops are already stocking up since a lot of folks save up all year for this.

Runs from 12:01 A.M. Friday, August 30, 2019 thru 12:00 Midnight Sunday, September 1, 2019.

Here's the official guide of what is and isn't Eligible and Non-Eligible Items. Bullets include factory ammo which is Eligible. You don't have to be a MS resident, but the usual rules apply for transfer of firearms to out of state buyers.

Did that last year. This year it will likely be just ammo, and maybe a couple accessories. :) I get a LE/Military 10% discount on ammo and some other items on top of that, so it's a pretty good savings altogether. :)

There's a few other states that also have this. I know Louisiana does. This is our 5th year in MS, and it was actually one of the easiest pro 2A statutes to get implemented in the last 10 years or so. It's not a big hit on the State treasury, so very little push back. Y'all should try it. :)

ETA: Found a recent article that identifies a couple other states, and some that have tried and failed.
