I purchased my Henry Silver Eagle 22mag from Bass Pro for $699.99 + tax.
I saw MSRP on Henry USA for over $900.
I'm guessing MSRP is always high, but I feel like I got a deal. The 22mag was even less than the regular Silver Eagle 22. That surprised me.

Never really understand the MSRP, it's always higher than what you find them for in stores.
Which is a good thing, but that is a surprise that the mag version was cheaper the the 22lr. Congrats!!

Let us know how it shoots, and don't forget to add your name to the How many thread.

Bass Pro/Cabela's can be luck of the draw when it comes to pricing. Seems like there's a fair amount of local discretion depending on any given store's inventory levels, seasonality, etc.

"Street Pricing" on any given Henry is generally within a fairly narrow range, except for some online/GB sellers who seem to think the woodgrain they have justifies asking for way OVER MSRP, but those listings tend to go on and on.

The only thing that matters is that you're happy with it; Henrys in general represent a very good value, all things considered. Congrats again on your first one!

.
Not uncommon for 'retail' to be 15-20% less than MSRP. Why? No clue.

I'd say you did well on your Silver Eagle. Maybe they had a lot of .22 mags sitting in the back and wanted to move them a bit. Congrats on a fine rifle.

MSRP on anything is just that!
Marketing has to establish a starting point based on a percentage over their cost.
Beyond that, there is a wide margin, from manufacturer to wholesale to distributors and to actual retailers and gun stores.
One way or another, they are going to make money from us. I understand that.
All we can do, is get as close to our retailers' COST as we can. They do have to make money.

I have 2 BSPs within a 40 mile radius of my house. Both have higher than normal prices on firearms. Some brands, like TIKKA, does not allow anybody to charge less than what the manufacturer will approve. Tikka T1X bolt rifle .22LR is the same price on the internet or BPS.

I think MSRP is just a ploy to make you feel better, when you get the price from the dealer. LOL

Congrats on the new Henry. I like all of mine. I have a Golden Boy H004 and a H004E both in 22 S/L/LR and a Big Boy Brass in 45 Colt. i'm thinking you got a fair price for yours based on the discount, off of MSRP, that my LGS gives.
