That's the price at TargetSportsUSA, though to get free shipping you'd need to buy 5000 rounds.markiver54 wrote:When I picked up my new SGC today they had 100 rnd boxes of them for $5.99. I don't know...is that a good price?

There's a CCI rebate you may qualify for here:

Re: CCI mini mags
That's an excellent price for mini-mags, but I bet your SGC will shoot better groups with CCI Standards.

Re: CCI mini mags
Yes, 6 cents/round of .22LR is a very good price, Mark. I'd try those 200 rounds (sight-in, practice, etc.) to see how your SGC performs.
Over the years I've had my SGC in .22LR, it cycles (chambers/ejects) a variety of ammo brands with no problems. And I have a large number of manufacturer brands in my .22LR stash. If you're not okay with the CCI mini mags, I'd try another 150-200 rounds of a different brand. Wouldn't be overly concerned about the price for that few number of boxes. The goal is to find a bullet that performs well in the rifle, which you shoot well, and that will provide the ammo for your planned targets. In your one thread you said that would "...probably be squirrels, coons and possums. Don't see why it wouldn't be a good can slayer as well..." After you settle in on best ammo, you might then look more toward purchase of a brick or two, as long as you and your SGC are both very happy campers with the ammo.
Mostly, I look forward to your Range Reports and how you like the SGC. For me (like a broken record), it's a great Henry!

Re: CCI mini mags
Mini Mags are the go-to choice if you are having any issues wth your gun. If it won’t shoot Mini Mags reliably, there is something wrong with it. I buy nothing but the 36 grain HPs, in my .22 s they are accurate enough (in one gun they are superb) and they are always reliable.
In your shoes I would go back to that store tomorrow and buy a case of that ammo at that price, and use THIS CCI rebate....
“For every five (5) boxes of CCI® rimfire ammunition purchased, we’ll send you a rebate equal to the purchase price of one (1) box. Rebate calculated on the lowest priced box. Minimum purchase of 5 boxes required. $200 maximum total rebate amount per person or household.”

This expires at the end of March 2019 so don’t delay.

Re: CCI mini mags
Thanks PT...It's driving me crazy now, living in city limits that the only affordable range in town is only 25 yrds. Weather is improving though, so might be able to get to the cabin soon when I can let her rip!!PT7 wrote:Yes, 6 cents/round of .22LR is a very good price, Mark. You're right though, variety, lots of rounds and find a compatible relationship between rifle and ammo..
Sights have me a bit concerned though....

Re: CCI mini mags
You’re very welcome. Midway USA has slightly higher prices than some but they are a great place to go to read reviews.
