I have been scouring Craigslist and facebook Marketplace for months to find a suitable small tractor to help the step son with his driveway in the winter and be useful in the summer. Finally, while at camp, I found a nicer, older John Deere 650. When I got home, I decided I would call and see about it. I called the next day, only to see that now, it came with a loader, originally not offered. It seemed that the man had found a loader and would be installed on the 650. I asked if it would be today, and he said yes, someone was coming later that night. Someone is always coming later that night it seems, after they get out of work. Since I was on vacation, I got there at 4:45 pm. He had just finished putting on the loader and gotten it working properly. He had not found the bypass for the hydraulics which meant you needed to raise the 3pt to raise the bucket. That was fine, I would be purchasing the manual for the loader, mowing deck and tractor. It also came with a 54 inch Curtis plow blade that the previous owner had rigged for an electric winch. I plan to clamp it to the bucket for winter plowing. It also has a set of chains and is 4wd. 1366 hrs on it's two cylinders. Pretty good. I will have to see about ROPs. I think it was an option on this model. With the hills at my step son's, it will be a must. It also contained 4 very well made home made suit case weights. A good package that was worth the trip so far. I will stop at the local JD dealer and see how much another key and the three manuals and ROPs will be. Hopefully not as much as I paid for the whole deal!
Oh, did I mention that it does NOT have power steering? Wow, did I forget what a fun time that is carrying a load in the bucket, namely the plow and then the deck, and then making a turn. It will do well this winter and junior is strong.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Looks like you scored there, nice find.
We just bought a package for Miss T, but went orange.
She loves her new bigger tractor with the bucket.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
