Beautiful tractor Nofly! (Just saw your thread. Man that thing is gorgeous!)

This is my “fancy” $150 rig after a $20 makeover. It’s been cutting my 2 acres for 4 years now. I bought from a guy who had an 1/8 acre lot. He used it to mow the local ball field. The funny thing is, he only did that so his neighbor (who he hated) wouldn’t get paid to do it!

as noted above, the Cub Cadet needed new blades .... the first picture shows the ones that were on the mower when we brought it home .... its hard to believe that since we've owned it, those blades have mowed over 6 acres .... who knows how many acres before that ..?.. for contrast, the second picture shows a set of new blades .... yesterday morning after installing the new blades we mowed just under 3 acres .... talk about a huge difference ..Smile :).. I now plan to order a second set so that they can be switched out when the ones on the mower need to be sharpened

Those old blades look like they could still be used as mulching/shredding blades.

the yard (AKA field) where its been used for 5 - 6 years has very thick, course grass and weeds .... we were told that the mower was serviced (including blade sharpening) in June .... I really have problem believing that a reputable shop wouldn't have, at the very least, recommended changing them .... as to if they were actually sharpened, who knows ???? .... Oh well, that's history .... from now on, it will be properly serviced and maintained

I doubt last June and even several Junes in the past. I got tough tall grass and gravel push ups and although my blades are past due they don't have the ends shredded out of them. Like you said, no matter now, new blades.
