Raised bed
I had time yesterday to finish the recycled raised bed. Everything, down to the screws, is recycled from a construction project I have access to. I like to reuse materials instead of land filling. This project was a pretty good example. The wood is all pallet wood. The tall side is for things that need extra room to grow, like carrots.

Re: Raised bed
That is excellent, great design. I will keep it in mind for when I get back to keeping bonsai trees.

Re: Raised bed
For decades and centuries before steel and plastic, there was wood.
wood wealth in our country, it could even be considered the first "building block of America." On your project, DD. Thanks for saving and re-using each stick of wood. Your project is well-done, well-worth the effort, looks great, and has good value in many ways!
Wood is the best stuff there is to build with!

No, that's the only part I'm not sure about. I think I will either remove that or cover it with a plastic sheet. I thought it would help with the weight of the dirt, but the metal is thick enough. I'll likely scrap that wood, so to speak.

Re: Raised bed
I took that particle board out and put it out for the trash. I replaced it with planks from the left over pallet material.
I filled it with good planting soil and am pleased to say the beets have sprouted.
