Lots of seat time this weekend
I had a lot of seat time this weekend. I mowed the main lawn with the John Deere, I mowed the pasture lot with the Craftsman, I finished my plowing with the cub and tilled the gardens with the Bolens and DR tiller. Plus I fixed a few breakdowns.

Re: Lots of seat time this weekend
I'm turning into my father. He had dedicated tractors for everything when he got too old to change out things. I do change over some things. I bought that Bolens because it was small enough to get into a lot of places. It pairs nicely with the DR tiller. I bought the tiller used. The previous owner said the electric actuator was slow. It's just about dead. I use the hydrolic lift on the Bolens three point hitch to replace the actuator. It works like a charm.

Al, I haven't shot much yet this year. It's a shame too. I promise to correct that.

Re: Lots of seat time this weekend
We have spent a bit of time in the tractor and mower seats as well. Tina mowed twice already with all the rain. The zero turn mows the acre and a half she mows pretty quick. (relative to the amount she is mowing... ) Then she decided to clip the paddock as the milk cow is preggers and needs to be contained and dried off for the last three months. Clip the paddock now, let it grow back out a bit and then put Molly in to dry out. We'll have to top the North Pasture this week to curb the spread of weeds. Then run the sprayer from the UTV... work work work, as Mel Brooks said in Blazing Saddles....
We have also been using it to move lumber and the RR ties she wants to line the edges of the new chicken coop run with to keep vermin out. The coop and run are nearly finished. The old coop that was here when we bought the new farm is about to fall down, so ... time to update.
We need to add the man door on this end of the run, and the double gates on the far end to allow the tractor access to add/remove mulch. The coop is nearly done inside, just needs the door between the roost area and the feed storage area. There is a direct access to the run from the coop, we have to finish the drop down door for that. A few days more work, just waiting on the last of the materials. THIS should last longer than we will be in the shape to keep chickens.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
