You need a 38-55 Mark there just a ton of fun to shoot. Vaquero needs one to. Hes halfway there with the mould and I know he loves to reload
Al, the brass receivers do nothing for me, yes I do have a 44 BBB, but I bought it used, and the brass has a nice patina.
If they do it in a case colored and an octagon, only then would I consider it.
But with all I already have I really don't have a need for anything else.
But with all that said.......
I have a bid in on a Rossi M92 in 44-40, something I really have no need for, but at the moment I have it at a bargain.
So I could even turn around and make a quick buck if I choose to.
Or I may buy dies and reload for it. So I guess a 38-55 could happen. :o

No worries Randy I knew you werent to fond of the brass but its just fun to poke the sleeping dog once in a while.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I should also say that if they were to come out with a CCH in that caliber I know there would be one living at my house. Having a real tough time not pulling the trigger on a CCH 30-30 I have been looking at for a while.

Mags lives in the high rent district. I haven't ever paid that much for any ammo Ive bought for a gun that I don't reload for. Even my Barnes 338 Win Mag ammo isn't that much. I will admit though 38-55 ammo is a lot more than 30 -30

I've always heard the reverse ... the heavier the bullet the heavier the recoil ....guess time will tell ... one of my goals for the last 4 days was to work on a light recoil 45-70 load .... didn't get it done .... hope to be able to start the process this coming Monday evening
Unique would be your powder for light plinking loads and a 405 gr. lead bullet. 13-14 gr. gave me 1100 FPS out of my 1895 Marlin GS.
