I have been involved in a discussion about pistol caliber rifles on another forum and Henry has been brought up.
One member has often referred to them as 'junk' in many previous posts and in this one he again stated it:
Henry’s are absolute junk imho, I’ll never buy another even to resell.
So, I followed up with this:
You have mentioned this many times and I and I am wondering what your specific experience with a Henry is/was that led you to this conclusion?
Seems like a fair question.

If Henry's were that bad I wouldn't have bought 6 of them.

I'm going to suggest that if he responds, it will not be informative or honest, but it will certainly be defensive. Once someone like that publicly makes a declarative, definitive, and unfounded statement, it's unlikely that he would later admit to having expressed a poorly considered criticism. He will simply say that he's right and he'll continue to believe it.
well said and dead on the money .... on this forum, such post are considered to be inflammatory and aren't permitted .... the difference is clear .... post detailing a problem with a Henry firearm are fine .... global, unsubstantiated indictments are not .... such post are a favorite tool of "trolls" who enjoy creating and then sitting back and watching controversy .... I once had a member here tell me (via PM) that he was trying to create some excitement by making such statements .... that's not the way we do business

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Yea - he is overdue so probably isn't planning on it.
As you can see the thread started out with a different topic and not related to quality.
Here is the thread if anyone wants to read it.
It is PC carbine/rifle related so I thought it was appropriate to post it.

I read through it and, frankly, I find threads like that to be totally wearying and of almost no value.

Everybody and their uncle weighing in with their experience, or a mangled story of someone else's experience (like a 15 lb Henry), dozens of side-tracking, "over the transom" posts, all leading to nowhere. A true dog's breakfast.

Good for you for challenging what you did, but this quickly gets filed under "life it too short" for me.

Well, the thread started out with a rational and reasonable question but drifted rather quickly....

“Lever action rifles are not sexy - they are mature and glamorous.” My favorite comment of the entire linked forum thread.
