wooden stock for Henry AR-7

Post by jebib » Tue Jul 02, 2019 10:41 am

Just because I have too much time on my hands I came up with the idea that I would like a replacement wooden stock for my AR-7 rifle. Is this the first time this issue has been raised? Is anyone aware of an aftermarket product or does anyone on this sight make replacement stocks who might give it a try? Thanks for listening.

This company makes a variety of stocks, including wood, for Henry repeating rifles. Might be worth an inquiry to see if they could do something for your AR-7? If they don't work on that rifle, they may know of another company who'd help. Just fill in the three links, and the "configurator" will take you to the Henry stocks.

Best in your search. An AR-7 with a wood stock would be very cool. 8-)

The AR7 hollow stock is molded plastic so it floats once the sealed butt cap is put on. The action and barrel slide into it. How would you go about milling the inside of a wooden stock to let the action and bolt be inserted? Also, what type of butt cap would be needed to make sure it is watertight?
Or would you plan to just leave the rifle assembled? This could be very interesting! :)

Hollowing out the stock wouldn’t be hard, and making a butt plate with a screw cap could be done, I just doubt there is much of a market for it.
