Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I will post pictures soon. But I got my new Henry today the sidegate 38-55. I really like this gun. Im also really like what Henry did with the front sight in going from the gold bead to the white one. I can see that front sight a whole lot better. Im wanting to leave it as is because I like using irons. At this point Im still blessed with good enough eye sight to be able to use them.

Here it is. I slugged the bore tonight and its tighter than other 38-55 models I own. Bore slugs at .376. Now to order more bullets

That's really nice, Al, congrats. I like what they did with the checkering. Fancier, but not crazy/over-the-top! You're right, the guy doing the vid review is very thorough and seems to really know what he's doing/talking about.

Look foward to a range report!

back on Wed Apr 24, 2019 8:55 pm JayZuv opened this thread on Henry's introduction of a side gate loader to their lineup .... somehow it seems like we've been talking about them for much longer than 3 months .... right now Henry only offers this rifle in a single line and in 3 calibers .... personally, I have no interest in purchasing any they offer at this point but have been thinking about what they might offer down the line that I'd be interested in ....

for me it would have to be Color Case Hardened, most likely a carbine, in a caliber that could launch heavy bullets

You may well get your wish Jim but I still haven't seen one in 35 Remington available yet. I know I have read on a few other forums of the same wish. Come out with some in pistol cartridge chamberings.
