Back To Henry

Post by BigAl52 » Thu Dec 20, 2018 9:07 am

Was in the basement last night reloading some 357. I wanted to make sure they would cycle through my 357 Big Boy Brass. Overall length was checked and was right. I pulled the BBB out of my safe dropped 3 rounds in the tube and gave it the test. First round comes out does a nose dive and the second round is there jamming against it. Gun refuses to cycle at all. So thinking maybe it was OAL I tried some 38 special that I had been shooting in the gun last time I took it to the range. Same thing a total jam up in the lifter area. So Im gonna give those nice folks at Henry a call this AM and I know it will be on its way back to Henry. I will keep you all posted.

Really odd, huh? Cycled okay the last time you had it out, but not now? Lifter failure? Please keep us posted, Al.

Ok I called Henry. I had to leave a message for them to call me back with the answering service lady. It wasn't but about 20 min later they called back. I explained my issue to the customer service lady and she right away explained she wanted the gun back. No questions asked just please send it back. She asked if I had internet and I replied yes, she then asked me to fill out the form on the website for warranty returns and they would respond with emails and labels to get the gun returned for service. This is different than it was before for me. I wonder if they are perhaps handling it different for efficiency reasons. She also mention which made total sense to me wait till after Jan 1 as they are closed for inventory, not to mention the holiday package over load. Will update when I have more news. Al

guess I better give them a call tomorrow .... our 44 is scheduled to reach Rice Lake tomorrow .... if they will be closed and not able to get it back to us by Jan 3rd (we leave to spend the winter in Texas on Jan 4th) I have to change their shipping address, nobody will be here to receive it .... secondly, I have to come up with a plan B for what to take to shoot while we are in gone

They will look after you, but that's a shame you are having an issue. Good luck.

Nice avatar RR and Thanks. I was really surprised when I decided to check out these rounds. I filled out the online form now waiting to hear back from them via email. With the holidays Im sure its not going to be as quick as it maybe any other time. Im okay with that. Its not like I dont have any other guns to play with.

Received an email first thing this am from Henry. It included the mailing label and instructions for its return. Unlike JEBars mine is headed to the east side to there plant in Jersey. I replied with a question about sending it to my work address when it returns because I'm not home during the day but haven't seen an answer yet. I may call them after the first of the year and ask them. I wont be sending it till then anyway.
