SHOT Show Surprises?
SHOT Show Surprises?
I wasn't deep into the Henry world last winter, so I'm wondering if HRA uses SHOT Show to unveil new models with lots of fanfare, or if they just trickle them out, such as the recently released single shot rifles?
In the internet universe, it's hard to keep a secret, as we all know, but what has Henry's history been?

Mossbergs “tactical” lever gun is the ugliest firearm I’ve ever seen. There is no need for crap like that! The Henry version isn’t all that bad in comparison.Ojaileveraction wrote:Those proto type Tactical Lever guns were HRAs attempt at grabbing social media likes last Shot Show.

I agree but I still think there will be a limited market for a 'hybrid' design as this. The Henry version isn’t all that bad in comparison.
The 'tactical' crowd aren't suddenly going to dump their ARs, AKs & whatever and scramble to get a 'tactical' lever action.
I firmly believe lever actions are predominantly the domain of traditionalists

I think we should ask RanchRoper about that.Mistered wrote:I agree but I still think there will be a limited market for a 'hybrid' design as this. The Henry version isn’t all that bad in comparison.

The Mossberg has a horribly ugly stock. From the receiver forward looks somewhat like the Henry concept. I look at the Henry concept and I see a Henry made low end with synthetic stocks fore and aft.

I don't think there will be a sudden shift either. But I do think there will be a more gradual shift as the 'tactical' crowd starts to mature they'll grow out of the rapid fire spray thrill and start shooting for a more measured and thoughtful purpose. My oldest son has sold all his tactical, my youngest has not. My oldest would now love to have a lever. I've encountered several in the tactical crowd that until they saw my lever seemed really surprised/oblivious to the existence of lever action rifles other than as a part of history or in a museum; that one could actually buy new. Many of the more mature shooters get that dreamy look on their face and you can tell they are a likely future lever owner. So ya, don't see a sudden dump and scramble, but I can see a migration with maturity of the shooter.

Re: SHOT Show Surprises?
I was shooting levers way before, and throughout the 'tactical' craze and still am.
