Update: Good Buy?

Hello there everyone. I purchased my first Henry a few months ago. I went with the BBB .41, the gun has been nothing but excellent. Since, then I have become hooked on Henrys. I was in my local gun shop, and found a beautiful used BBB .44, and have been seriously considering picking it up. They're asking 650, which i thought was a bargain, but since I am relatively new to the Henry world, I wondered what you all thought was a good price for a used Henry, in near perfect condition.

Well, I went back today, and sure enough I walked out with a nice shiny BBB .44, wouldn’t budge on the price, but I thought that was a fair price. The previous owner won it in a raffle, didn’t want it and sold it to the store. So essentially, I bought a new rifle at a used price. Happy to add to my collection and excited to put some rounds down range!

I just went and looked on Gunbroker. He is at the upper end of the scale for used. There is some on there in that price range with no one bidding on them. If it was me Id make him an offer of 600 and see where it goes. Guess it also depends on how bad one wants it. Used items are worth what someone will pay for them.

our 44 Henry BBS has quickly become one of my favorites .... $650 isn't an outlandish price .... I agree with Al, make him an offer

Yep - lay five Benjamins on the counter and step back and watch what he does - If he picks them up most likely he'll say sold - not a move for the feeble or weak but it's how I roll....

$650 used I think you can do better.

I like Mistered's idea. Lay 5 Bens down and if he balks walk away. I have found that patience prevails.

You drive a hard bargain. But, it is difficult to turn down cash.

Thanks guys, I’m planning on heading over Friday and trying my luck. Knowing the store, I’m not sure they’re gonna budge a lot, but i’ll definitely give it a shot and let you all know how it goes.

Also, Bugs, is that link really to an engraved .44 for that price?
