I just got the 10 rd magazines for the Homesteader, they are nearly impossible to load. I use the UpLULA® universal pistol magazine loader 9mm, and for some reason it doesn't work.

Call Henry and speak to a tech of some sort and see if they have any suggestions. I havent seen one myself so I cant comment. But if I paid as much for one those as I have seen them selling them for if I had magazine issues like that Id be sure to voice my dissatisfaction to Henry

Not much help, I can get 7 in the 10 rd magazine but it is very difficult and hurts my fingers...this takes the fun out of the Homesteader. They are fat plastic magazines..

Maybe try warranty service complaint. "10 round mag only holds 7. Last 3 won't go in."

Id call them and ask them for a Glock mag well adapter free of charge since you cannot use a speed loader to load theres. I know one of the mag lulua speed loaders will work with a glock. I think for the price of this gun they should throw in all the adapters.

I now understand what they did. They made their magazines so fat so that there was room for the adaptor for the Glock and other magazines. Their magazine is too fat for any loader to fit around it and work. Hand loading is hard on my old hands. I asked what Glock magazines will work as I do not have any Glock guns. no answer yet. I will have 4 10 rd and 1 5 rd Henry magazines just sitting around now.

LOL, soon there will be Homesteader specific speedloaders. Firearm designers can do some really stupid things. I bet they never even considered this issue! Are you in a mag limited state - one that prohibits selling standard capacity mags? If so, I feel for you, and I would insist that Henry buy back the gun. Then go out and buy a Ruger PC.

Well I explained that a loader will not work with the fat magazines that they made, and I can only push 7 shells in the 10 rd magazine. Here is the response.

So the next thing would be to send a complaint to the
Communications Director - Customer Service
Dan Clayton-Luce - Dan@henryusa.com

Otherwise you may want to DYI remove coil(s) or leaf(s) from the mag springs.
