Centerfire popularity is amazing

Post by beaverislander » Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:32 pm

I had no idea how many Henry Centerfires were out there until I joined this forum. Sure, I knew they made a few different calibers here and there but I always thought of Henry's as basically rimfire rifles.

I love my H001 Henry .22. It's the first gun I ever purchased and it's so much fun to shoot; however, it inspired me to purchase a H006M Henry Big Boy .357 and I might love that one a little bit more than the rimfire because it's what led me to begin reloading, another part of this shooting hobby that I love.

Now I own three .357s... one Henry rifle, one Uberti SAA revolver, one Colt DA revolver, and a Colt .38 special revolver.

How many times can I say I love this hobby?

Maybe starting with a .22 and then adding a 357 is natural progression as the same thing just happened to me.

CT, I'm right there with you. Except my deal is with those pesky .45 Colts! One Henry BB steel and two Italian 1873 clones. Which I've been shooting a lot of. Gads, those things are a hoot!

My first Henry was the .22 Pump Action and Henry was the only game in town for that. Liked the quality of it and when I was looking for a .44 Mag Carbine I picked Henry again. Then the "enablers" here got me and well got a .357 rifle and later a very nice CCH .45 Carbine.

I'm starting to see how that could happen. :D

Yeah, those Henry 22’s are definitely gateway drugs.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

The bigger bores give a lot better pin action on fun targets. The .22s are great for plinking, target shooting and small game. The big bores are great for plinking (with more destruction) target shooting (with more cost, kick and noise) and medium/larger game hunting. I like the heft and the power of the big classics. I like em all. There's nothing like walnut and blue steel with an external hammer. Just feels right.

Im gonna say the 41 mag for me. Looked for a long time at getting a Marlin in 41 mag but the prices were way over the top. When Henry finally decided to do a 41 I was all over it.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
