Re: Henry Long Ranger .308 trigger adjustment
I don't know the inner workings of the Lone Ranger but the trigger pull weight on Big Boys is determined mostly how unmachined mim parts fit together. The mating surfaces of the trigger and hammer looked like 2 hooks instead of flat surfaces, so the trigger pull was determined by the warp that almost all mim parts have. It might be the same for the Lone Ranger.

Not sure what all that means, but, the triggers on my two Henry's[.357 Classic and .45 Colt BB steel] are near as good as I want/need. Kram will get this sorted out.leverjc wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 3:33 pmI don't know the inner workings of the Lone Ranger but the trigger pull weight on Big Boys is determined mostly how unmachined mim parts fit together. If it were mine, and they refused to do anything about it, and was wanting to keep it I would do it myself.Rifletom wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 11:56 amRandy, yeah, that got discussed too if he elects not to send it back. That trigger is heavy!
Other wise I would just sell it.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I haven't even talked to Henry about sending it back yet.

Re: Henry Long Ranger .308 trigger adjustment
So when you bought it did you pull the trigger at the shop before you brought it home? I make sure the bolt comes out as it's supposed to and try to examine it and dry fire it a few times just to make sure it's at least ok on the counter. I guess you never know what's gonna happen on the range with consistent hits and proper ejection/cycling.
Long Ranger's are sweet rifles, hope it all works out :-)

I don't have a Long Ranger, I have a Big Boy .357 and a 45-70. Both pull the same as far as I can tell and I'm guessing 4-5 lbs. Now I'm kinda curious to know. They are smooth shooters.Kram wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 7:51 pmDo you know what the trigger pull is on your Long Ranger?Kissmybrass wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 9:44 pmSo when you bought it did you pull the trigger at the shop before you brought it home? Re: Henry Long Ranger .308 trigger adjustment
Trigger pull on my LR is 8#, although it might add to the poor grouping I don't believe it's the problem.
I'll shoot a few more rounds with different size bullets, remove the scope and try a few more.
I dont want to shoot my reloads out of it because I don't want Henry to complain about that. At close to $2.50 a round for good ammo is just stupid.
