The springs from Grainger are a 31 pound spring. Henry uses a 51 pound spring. They use that heavy of spring to pass the drop test when the hammer is cocked. This is what I have read from other guys doing the leg work on this changing of the spring in the Henry Single Shot. This spring is what is resulting in the heavy hammer pull on the gun. When changing out that spring it reduces the hammer pull. I wont have any springs till the first week in Jan so I am told. I will post the process when I change mine.
