I have also seen on another forum where a guy is selling hammer springs to replace the heavy on that comes in the gun. He claims replacement is super easy. Im not much of a gunsmith and havent seen any videos on Youtube yet on disassembly but non the less Im anxious to get mine and shoot it. Al
Good on you for ordering one of these in 357, Al. I bet that will be a keeper - these are outstanding rifles for the price. We've been using our 44 to take out some pumpkin and gourds - lots of fun to watch those gourds explode when one of those 240g 44 round lands...

Have you put a scope on yours Tad or are you just using the irons. I having thoughts about a TRS-25 Bushnell red dot on mine as I have one in the drawer downstairs that needs a home.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

We were going to put Skinner peep sights on it, but for some odd reason, this is one of the only rifles we own where the factory buckhorn sights work for everyone. We shoot it as it came out of the box mostly from 25-50 yds - it's one of our favorite "heavy plinkers".

Thanks Tad. Im going to shoot mine first before I make a decision on what to do. I guess I didnt realize skinner had peeps for it. I know they have the barrel mounted peep but Im not thinking I would like that. Havent seen one that would mount into the scope base screws and I did recently look.

Al, the Lo Pro mounts into the threaded hole in the barrel. Pretty slick. Just ensure the right thread and diameter.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

If we were to put a peep on ours, we would probably go with their low-pro dovetail barrel peep that Skinner designed for a Browning SA-22 - it's in the "Rimfire" section on their website. Would also probably add a Lyman globe on the front.

Thanks Cofisher and Tad. I haven't really investigated Skinner sights to much. The first ones I had the chance to use were on my small game carbines. But the low pro looks interesting. I may try one. Al
