Thanks everyone.. I really appreciate it.

I have to get my barrel measurements off to Williams to get my Firesight for it to go with the FP target peep I have this weekend.. But if I can get the wife out on Sunday I will try to get to the public range and see how it goes with the factory sights..

I know why there hasn't been much on the 308's now.. Mine was made 3-28-18 and is #42... That's not a whole lot of them out there yet....

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

I have to comment that CT_Shooter's compliment about the wood is spot-on...totally agree.
#42 came to you with some fantastic-looking wood furniture!
I'd almost say it was worth the wait time to have a Henry single-shot rifle that looks so good!!

:D Enjoy-Enjoy. :D

All it takes is some plastic and it needs to be in one of those male thinking wallets if you use that female wallet it will decline the card.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Nice 308 Mac. I like it. 308 and 243 are 2 of my favorite calibers. I have both but the 308 is in an AR-10 format which I dont really need but I wanted one and thats all I have is a want because its living in the dark confines of a safe. Ive only shot it a couple of times. We all have those types of guns I think. Want one just so we can say I have one. Except maybe RR hes one of the few I know who is 45 colt and thats all he has 45 colt. I wish I was that discipline. I dont think RR buys into the guy with the most toys wins at the end.

Sorry folks..

I did not get the 308 to the range today.. I decided to wait a bit and research some scope options for it. I am leaning more towards a small variable scopes now like the Leupold vx hog for it, instead of the peep sights. After looking out of the rear sight at first and last light even with a fire sight I don't have a lot of confidence in my eye sight.. It's a drag getting old...

I'll keep you all posted on it when I get it set up and ready to go...

all tooooooo well understood on the drag .... we usually top our 308's with a 3X9 or 4X12 scope .... 308's can be effective hunters at ranges that exceed the ability of most folks pulling their trigger

After a lot of searching and countless trips to various stores checking out scopes, I too will be topping mine with a 4x12. I got a great deal on a VX-2 40mm compact yesterday off Amazon along with a set of QRW rings for well under $300. I had a H&R Ultra scope base put back from my Handi rifle days and it fit perfectly on it... so I'm all set to get it set up.

Still working on all my reloading room/gear trying to get everything put back since we're empty nesters now and I get to have one again (LOL) but I've just about reaquired all my gear... Heck I might even try to get into swaging some jacketed bullets since I got a good press for doing it cheap last week.. It's a early 1960 vintage CH pro 111..

Now I ju have to get it all together and go shoot...
