While I don't shoot a Henry single shot, I can tell you from shooting a huge variety of other break action single shots, there is nothing in the design that prevents a break action single shoot from shooting sub MOA. Have had plenty of them that have. Assuming a decent barrel on the Henry, should be plenty accurate.

I've seen some great groups with the Henry single shot posted on our forum. I'm sure some of the guys will be sharing, soon.

My answer is a qualified YES. It's a break action single shot and if your goal is bug hole groups it'll probably be a disappointment. BUT...my H015 .44 mag with 240 XTP's or 260 gr. cast hollowpoints will consistently group 1" to 1 1/4" at 50 yards with a 2 1/2X Leupold. It's a handy little deep woods deer rifle and serves it's purpose well. Both of my .357's do just as well at 50 yards although one of them has a 3moa reddot so that is the limiting factor. The H015 in .223 has a Leupold 2X7 mounted on it and is very close to being an moa gun but I haven't done much load development...yet. I ran some prairie dog loads that were worked up for a different rifle on a freshly painted 210 yard swinger and it made a satisfying tennis ball sized dark spot on the plate. I wasn't playing the wind and was also surprised that the barrel getting warm didn't seem to affect the POI.

So, in answer to your question, yes they are accurate but I refuse to drive myself nuts trying to make benchrest rifles out of them. What they are is nice looking and well made little rifles that are fun to shoot.

I agree with NCG though I have only owned a Topper in 30-30 and it would shoot 1" groups with a lot of different loads. The barrel does have to good though. If you hand load you can keep the bullets closer to the lands to sometime get better accuracy.

I don't own a Henry SS, but, do have a Ruger No.1B in 30-06 that is very accurate. It isn't going anywhere.

I got my recently acquired 357 single shot to the range today. Windy, less than optimal light.Open sights only. steel swinging 3/4 size humanoid target. Two shots, two head shots. Accurate enough.

Ive got one in 357. There not benchrest guns and neither is ANY Henry. But if I do my part with the red dot sight I have on mine the steel is always moving.

Maybe I should get a single shot for deer instead of a Long Ranger.

My 243 is pretty dead on accurate. Shooting 1” groups at 100 yards.

Henry .243 Single Shot. 100 yards. Two different shooters each using different magnifications.
Henry .357. 15 grains 2400 under a Hornady 158 grain XTP.

Both are bad medicine for deer. Every deer I’ve ever pointed either of these rifles at has been, or soon will be eaten.
