Got the .357 Henry out today!
Weatherman promised a beauty of a day today...80 F with low humidity and so it was off to my range this morning!
Decided to have some fun plinking with that nice CCH Henry .357 and brought along my 38 Special load of the MB 158 gr. RNFP over 5.5 of Power Pistol a great plinking load out of the Henry and revolvers.
Started off knocking out the steel flip over targets in the Bullseye Saloon from 30 and 50 yds. One thing I noted was my flip over beer bottle targets are painted gold and the front sight bead is also a gold color...brass so it would get lost on those targets but knocked them out anyway.
Next I decided to chew away at the upper left corner of the "5 of Spades" target which flops back down after you take out the steel cowboy.
25 yds for the corner spade standing position...not to bad!
Took a little trail walk to one of the creek areas and put the Henry up on the sign for a photo. That CCH adds a bit of camo look in the woods! Excuse the C clamps I used to allow the rifle to sit securely.
A great late morning for shooting today and heading down again tomorrow...Sunday for something special!

Fly out one weekend and you can camp out in the cabin. Can't promise much comfort though but woods, stars at night and some shootin!
Dang...I forgot about your knee surgery. Hope you heal up and can enjoy some range time soon brm4450!

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Nice day. You caught my attention with that plinking load. I have some of the MB 158 gr. bullets on the way and I have some Power Pistol sitting in the back corner of my cabinet. I've been looking for an excuse to get rid of that powder. I used it for some 40 S&W loads 15 years ago and it worked well, but is produces a big muzzle flask that's very noticeable when shooting indoor with low light. That's why I moved it to the back of my cabinet.

Well give it a shot and see how you like it! Now I have used it in .45 ACP but found that ol' Unique at 6.0 grains was a bit more accurate.Headhog wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 9:24 pmNice day. It seems to work well in .38 Special.

Looks like a load of fun forty. Good shooting. Another stinking fire around the mountain range I use, sure hope it survives.
113 here today, so deserts are OUT of the question right now. Gadzooks, it's hot!! A/C on, cold beer going down. Ain't going outside in this heat. Gettin' fat!
