I intended to shoot my pistol today but no wind so I wanted to shoot 100 yds with my Henry rifle. 45 Colt, reloads...6.6 gn Universal, 200 gr lead. This is 50 rounds on 1 target at 100 yards, shooting from 1 knee. 12" target, and got all on the paper! Ladder sight up, played with the slider a little but mostly at the bottom. Pulling left a bit but it's pretty much a postage stamp at that distance so I won't beat myself up too much. That critter is dead.
75F, and a beautiful day in cow country.
Shoot safe, RR

Wow RR...that would be a happy target for most folks at 50 yds!!! Very well done....again!
How did the 250 gr. bullets shoot thru that rifle? Man has eagle eyes for sure and a steady hold!!

That is actually one of a pair of little antlers that were laying in my yard, I did have a bear claw on there that I traded for but this little antler fit better and does not move around. I think it kind of dresses it up a bit, and gives it a nice old timey frontier look.

Those were 200 gr LFNRP and they shoot great, really like them. 250's are better in the wind though.

Are they a bevel base RR or flat base https://www.mattsbullets.com/index.php? ... cts_id=274 these are the ones I ordered. I then ordered the MC 200 gr bullets but after looking at them I was really disappointed in the quality of them this time. I think Matts bullets shot better and looked really good. Sure there more money but they are a quality bullet.

Re: July 6th, 1860
well done indeed .... just curious, have you considered slinging a few down range shooting from a locked down rest just to see how tight of a group your ammo and rifle can produce .. .. my bet is they would prove to be a really good combo
