getting the brass bucket full

Last November I sold two Christmas popcorn buckets full of empty 22 brass at the salvage yard. So far since last December we have another bucket full. I can't believe we have shot that much already but the weather has been mild or we wouldn't have had the chance to shoot so much. I weighed enough empty brass to make a pound on my digital scale and then counted the empties. The brass I sold last fall according to the weight in those two cans (34+lb.) would have been 24,140 rounds. This year may be as good or even better than last year. I wish every member here a good year at the ranges and be safe.

Does the brass recycler take centerfire brass with primers in them or must one decap them before putting them in the bucket

Al I deprime mine but have yet taken any off.
I have a universal decapper setup on a lee single stag.
So when I run across a split case or screw on up every now and then it's no problem.
Then if I get there and they want them removed I'm good.

Hey, Bandit. If I had shot that many rounds, I would have had to count 24,140 individual POI holes in my targets. Of course, that's excluding those wild shots into the berms. Your POIs are just about all grouped in your jagged/shredded holes you have in your dead-on bulls! Much easier to count.

I have taken in center fire brass at times. Never deprimed any. I asked them the first time about depriming and they just said it wasn't necessary. I have never taken any live primed ones in. The place I take them they never even look at them. They just weigh them and dump them and give me my containers and the slip to stop at the office and get paid.

I have one of those universal decapers also. May start picking up range brass when I go out as there is alot of it out there.

I put down one of the cheap Harbor Freight blue tarps. When finished shooting fold it down the middle and pour it right in my plastic jug I take to the range and into my brass bucket when I get home.
