Extremely glad to hear that Jake. I understand the frustration but I'm sure they will get it right.Shakey Jake wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 1:35 pmNo,I was shooting 85 gr. Tom Kotz emailed me back and Henry wants me to ship it back. I won't state my reply on the forum. Honestly, I probably will in a day or two. I don't want anyone else having a issue with it.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:06 amThis is disturbing, I haven’t shot mine yet but did just renew my rifle club membership so will be getting out in the next week (ish). I’ll report back when I do. I have several boxes of the Federal 100 grain I will be shooting, I imagine that’s the load you tried?

Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Reluctantly sent it off today. I'm still thinking of trading it off but I didn't want to just let it be someone else's problem.

Jake if it means anything I commend you for that. I have personally dealt with guns that I have bought used that I felt were done that way. Thanks Jake for doing that

Re: .327
I got the rifle back the other day. Just haven't been on the forum much lately. (Too much going on with my mom's health). Anyway, the report stated they installed a new bolt and trigger spring. Also said they replaced the stock. I never noticed a crack in it from but they may have found one when taking it apart. Range is closed due to the Covid-19 so I'll take it out once things clear up to make sure it functions correctly. I'm thinking of trading it in on a Uberti 1875 Schofield.

I too understand your frustration and have dealt with it twice with guns. First was with an 'economy' .22 pistol I bought and the frame cracked. Sent it back for replacement and sold it NIB immediately after getting it!
The 2nd was with a Winchester 94 AE Trapper .357 that gave me fits for years with its known feeding problem that plagues most of them - especially the .357s
In my situation I sold it to buy my Henry which has been largely in part flawless and it seems I have been very lucky in this respect.
Actually I stumbled on the Henry first and bought it. I was planning on keeping the Trapper but I sold it to a local LGS was just starting out and needed used stock and I did very well.
I had the box and paperwork and that helped!

Re: .327
Finally got out to the range today before the monsoon started. Rain was supposed to come in tomorrow but SURPRISE! Started raining at the range so bagged it and left. I got the Henry sighted in without a hitch and then went and shot the new Ruger 45LC/ACP. I shot a box of ACP and it was hitting high and to the left. I forgot to take a flat tip screw driver to adjust the sight so I won't post any targets today. I'll leave that for another day when I can get it sighted in correctly. The Ruger did shoot a very nice group, just not where it needed to be.
