Report on the Range

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Jan 07, 2020 10:03 am

I mailed in my yearly range dues a couple weeks ago and should receive the 2020 sticker soon. It made me think about when I joined the range in 2003.

Some years I would go several times a week but I don’t think I went a single time in 2019. When I packed all my firearms for the hardwood floors construction I set aside a couple .22LR pistols so I could grab and go.

Maybe I’ll make a real report in the next week.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I plink a lot in the summer but don’t really target shoot. I’ve cleaned up the back a lot since you saw it. Matter of fact I’ve done a lot of landscaping.

Since I was at your house I have thought about buying an airgun so many times but just haven't done it. I have a couple in mind just keep delaying that purchase

I have the most fun plinking with my cheap Red Ryder BB gun. I’m surprised at how accurate it is at 30 feet. Inch groups offhand is possible if I concentrate.

I have an air rifle range in my backyard also but since buying my range property down in the country I haven't used it much and also having a dog now that likes to run in the fenced backyard. I do have a few nice air rifles like a Hatsan 30 cal. break barrel and a nice Walther Co2 Winchester like lever rifle in .177.

Good to hear you plan to do more shooting, this year, Gene, and the you are still shooting air guns in the backyard. When Bill and I got back into airguns some five or six years, ago, the plan was for airgun shooting to eventually become our main shooting platform, though we will always shoot some powder guns, too. Pretty much where we're at, now. This last year has been a rough year for us as far as making time for our trips to the club range to burn up some gunpowder. Our airgun shooting, at home, has picked up the slack, though.
