Testing out a new for me Henry .44 Mag load.

Wanted to try some faster .44 Mag loads for my BBS Carbine using the Missouri Bullet 240 gr. coated Keith style bullet, this bullet being the
main one I use for .44 Special and low end Magnum use.
So I made up a test batch using 18.5 gr of Alliant 2400 powder. Didn't want to push it beyond it's limits...whatever that is for this bullet and
was very happy with the test results this afternoon.
I was getting speeds in the 1550 to 1570 zone which was maybe 100 FPS more than I had figured looking at the load manuals but then it could be
that slick Hi-Tek coating helping out.
Now to see how I could shoot it on target from 50 yds. using the iron sights. Not too bad after two flyers while trying to settle myself down..
always takes me a couple shots to find my groove! Pictured is a 5 shot on target with 3 good close ones...how did I do that??
Best of all that Hi-Tek coating MB uses worked like a charm at those speeds with a nice clean bore after 25 shots...Great stuff!!!
Also you could shoot these all day with no shoulder bashing noted. Will also try these in my Ruger SBH next time and see how Mr.Knuckle
likes them
Anyway I think this will be a go to load for .44 Mag and lead bullets for a hotter than plinking load.
Was also amazed my cranky Chrono functioned well in the overcast sky today!
A great day at the range today!
