Great shooting with that "heavy for caliber" Low wall rifle!
I love my 1885 High Wall in .45-70 and you don't rush to shoot these classics...just take time and enjoy it!

Thanks, forty. The Low Wall Hunter versions of these Winchester/Miroku 1885s weigh about 7.5 pounds, mostly due to their trim, tapered octagon barrels. True, that is on the heavy side for a 22 rifle, but in the world of classic falling block rifles, it's actually on the light side. (The Classic with the straight grip is much heavier, thanks to its heavy half round/half octagon barrel.) This is important to me, because, as much as I would love to have a Sharps reproduction, I could barely lift one. Quigley, I am not. The High Wall Hunter versions are 8.5 pounds. That would still be doable for me, but just barely if I added a scope. The non-Hunter versions of the High Wall are too heavy for me, though.

If Badger is ok with that, then I guess you're good to go! I know YOU can handle it.

9.5 pounds is the going weight for a standard reproduction of the 1885 and a standard Sharps repro is even more. I'm sure you can handle it, RR, and that kind of weight should make for a very stable shooter for your kneeling position. More than I can handle, though.
