Range report: Henry’s and Skinner’s

Post by deano5150 » Mon Sep 02, 2019 11:37 am

I took my Golden Boy 22LR with Skinner barrel mounted peep and blade front sight back to the range on Sunday 9/1/19. This time I stretched out to 30 yards to check my zero. I was shooting a bit low so I raised the peep 1/2 turn. I think it’s fairly close to being sighted in when I do my part. This target is the last of 3ea 15 round strings. The first two were not worth showing as I was adjusting the sights and getting warmed up. :D

Then I put 15 rounds through my BBSC 357 with Skinner receiver mounted peep and front blade at 30 yards. I’m shooting just a touch to the left but I’m very pleased with the results.

i like having Skinner’s on both rifles for the sake of a consistent sight picture. I feel like I shoot the 357 better for some reason. Maybe the groups look better to me because the holes are bigger.
At any rate, I LOVE my BBSC!
I hope to get back to the range this afternoon.

That 357 carbine will make a believer out of you. Easy shooting, and the peep sight is perfect for it. Well done.

Your iron sights on both Henrys is a great way to shoot! :) I've shot both a .22 SGC and a .357 BBB with Skinner peeps. I would definitely be a happy camper with any of your targets, small or large POIs. All-around very, very good shooting, Deano.

Enjoy the other round of range time today. Fun way to spend some holiday weekend time.
Be safe.
