August 29th, ???
Got word there was some strange tracks not too far from here so went to check things out. No rest for a Henry Forum Deputy Marshal. Grabbed 2 boxes of 20 cartridges, saddled up and hit the trail at a long trot....
About an hour later....'Ol Badger is on the trail of somethin'....that is a darn big track...way bigger than a griz...better keep my Henry handy....
Suddenly I see two hombres locked in mortal combat with the biggest critter me and Badger ever laid eyes on...
I dismounted, dropped to 1-knee and unloaded a full barrel of 12 rounds at 100 yds....luckily I was shooting my own reloads, 200 gr LRNFP 6.6gn of Universal...all 12 on target...
The giant behemoth moved away and started off down the valley, but I got off another 12 rounds at 200 yds this time, still shooting from 1 knee, ladder sight up and on bottom notch....9 out of 12 hits
Just as he disappeared into the distance, I put 16 more rounds on him at 250 yds but only hit him twice and grazed him on the far left side....250 yds from 1 knee position!!!...even a dinosaur is pretty small with open sights at that distance. Had to move the ladder sight up to the 2nd notch; a guess but it seemed to be the right elevation mostly. The rest of the rounds were in the wood(s) all around him.... ...if only I had my 1885 High Wall, but that's another tale for another day...
That is certainly one of the strangest adventures Badger and me ever had...good thing I had my Henry 1860 45 Colt with me.
Hope you enjoyed our tall tale of the old west, shoot safe. RR

Zero wind today which is unusual here so I thought I'd take a chance. Thanks!

Thankfully sightings of that giant behemoth have only been reported by you...tucked away in Canada. And trusting that those 23 rounds in him, and one grazing him, kept him running north!
Are you considering looking for that identifying "trail" to follow...and finish the tale?!? Sounds like Badger is good for the hunt, stout heart.
Us in the US are grateful for your watch over our northern border, too.
Great shooting, Deputy Marshall RR

Well they say the further north you go the bigger the game gets. Guess it's true.

.
Those Dinos in deep freeze will be waking up more and more. I think we'll see more sightings and interactions as the tundra thaws.

I bet the further north you go you have more time to let that imagination run wild. Is that King Kongs buddie Godzilla there RR
